Uneventful would be the best word to describe the tread that the trespasser had proceeded. But the givings of the spirits had granted him pause on the journey that should have been for fun. The chanting that lingered in his head was something like a drum; beating and beating did it strum through his heart strings. Throughout his very being. Reminding him again and again of what loomed in the future. Foreshadowing a potential Fate that he knew not of, nor did he ever dare to desire. What sort of creature could know him? Begin to understand him? No, not some irrelevant spirit that got its kicks from tormenting the living. Something like that could only potentially know of superficial ties and bodings. “You know nothing.” He bantered to the open field that he stood, earning no response in return. Angered by the events that led him here, he pushed himself forward with heavy stomps in the muck and away from the trees full of malintent and hungry spirits. Away from the horrors that he had to face alone and astray. What did it mean? No matter how much he wanted to will away the events, they remained like a bad hangover. Murderer. Of course he was. Dense as the forest grew, swelling in darkness and brush, the impending decline of light drew a foreboding feeling in the trespasser’s gut. Spirits dwelled within the trees, peeking at the man with green eyes like silent spectators, their flickers of light and magic abundant. The glows eerie and ominous, just as the sign at the beginning of this escapade predicted. Though, despite the spirits and their vexing quiet, the dread that filled the area did not come from them. No, these were mere fireflies in the midst of something far more...hungry. Zi’s gaze turned upward bound as his hand fell through yet another wisp of mist. “What lingers here?” The Rohkuh mused, while his stance stood firm, his words hardly reaching the onlookers that merely bobbed and glided amongst the wind’s currents.
